Scenic Wahkiakum County - Where Tranquility Meets Adventure

 

Hollywood has discovered what all the residents of Wahkiakum Country  know and whey we all live here ... it is the Natural beauty.  This "Not Spoiled" County has just what movie makers look for.  Rough mountains, creeks, rivers, wildlife and lots of low lying areas with old pilings, down trees and docks, and the last standing Cannery on the Columbia River in Cathlamet and our famous Covered Bridge still in use today. 

The only County in the State without a stoplight, the smallest County in the state in size, and only 4,500 residents allows movie companies plenty of opportunity to set up and shoot the natural landscape with out spending a lot of their budget trying to create a movie set.

Everybody in Wahkiakum County works very hard to keep our area natural, beautiful and historic.  Many Writers, Artiest's and Photographer have moved here to develop their craft.  Several books have been written on our area and they can be found in our museums.
